Community guidelines

How we handle reviews, photos, and patient-submitted content. By using CanVerify or submitting material, you agree to these terms.

CanVerify is an independent patient community project. We are not a clinic, pharmacy, prescriber, or medical device manufacturer. Content is for general information only — not medical, legal, or financial advice. Always follow your prescriber's guidance and UK law. Community reviews reflect individual patient experiences, not clinical trials. Effects vary by person, batch, and condition. Do not start, stop, or change treatment based on this site alone.

Community standards

  • Share your own experience with a product, batch, clinic, or device — not hearsay or second-hand rumours.
  • Do not post questions, buying advice, or "what should I get?" threads via the review form; those belong in patient forums.
  • Be specific where you can: batch codes, format (flower/oil/cart), vape method, and how it affected your symptoms.
  • No harassment, hate speech, or naming individual pharmacy or clinic staff.
  • Do not encourage illegal activity or recreational sourcing.

Privacy & safety

  • Never include your full name, address, phone number, NHS number, or prescription identifiers.
  • Do not upload photos showing prescription labels, delivery packaging with your address, or your face unless you are comfortable with public display.
  • We may redact or edit submissions to remove identifying details before publication.
  • Submissions are rate-limited and moderated before going live.

Review submissions

  • By submitting a review, you grant CanVerify a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, edit for clarity/privacy, and display your text on canverify.uk and related pages.
  • You confirm the review is your honest experience to the best of your knowledge.
  • You retain ownership of your words; the licence lets us operate the site without asking permission for every publish.
  • We may reject or remove content that fails quality checks, breaks these guidelines, or creates legal or safety risk.

Photo uploads

  • Only upload photos you took or own the rights to (e.g. your own product shots — not stock images or brand marketing grabs).
  • By uploading photos with a review, you grant CanVerify a non-exclusive licence to display them on strain and batch pages. We may crop or resize for layout.
  • Do not upload images containing personal data, minors, or content you do not have permission to share.
  • We may remove photos that breach these rules or create privacy risk.

Catalog & third-party data

  • Some strain listing metadata and fallback photos may come from public sources such as MedBud until community photos replace them.
  • Third-party names, logos, and product images remain the property of their respective owners; attribution is shown where applicable.
  • CanVerify does not sell cannabis or provide prescriptions.

Data we handle

  • Review text and optional photos you submit.
  • Basic technical data (e.g. IP address) for abuse prevention and rate limiting — not sold to advertisers.
  • We use Supabase (EU-capable hosting) for storage; see their privacy policy for infrastructure details.
  • No patient accounts are required to read or submit reviews today.

Removal & corrections

  • If published content includes your personal information or you want a correction, contact the site operator via the channels listed on the Donate / About pages.
  • We aim to respond to valid privacy requests within a reasonable timeframe.

This is the checkbox text shown when submitting photos with a review:

By uploading photos with your review, you confirm you took or own them and grant CanVerify a non-exclusive licence to display them on canverify.uk (including strain and batch pages). We may crop or resize for display. You retain ownership of your images.

Catalog data

Listing data (including prices and availability) may be sourced from public UK catalogs and is refreshed periodically — not live market data. Confirm current pricing and stock with your pharmacy.
